The International Research Conference on Innovation for Insurance Inclusion took place on August 23, 2024 at the National Insurance Academy in Pune. One of the key speakers, G N Bajpai, the Chairman of GovEVA Private Ltd., emphasized the stagnation in India’s life and non-life insurance industry and stressed the importance of innovation to achieve insurance for all by 2047. He suggested leveraging technologies like smart contracts and focusing on pricing, accessibility, affordability, and sustainability to tap into the untapped market.
Satyajit Tripathi, Member (Distribution) IRDAI, in his keynote address, highlighted the impact of changing demographics and technology evolution on customer expectations. He discussed the role of Big Data and AI in bringing technological innovations to health and motor insurance and addressed emerging risks and challenges in the industry.
The conference featured panel discussions on legal and regulatory reforms for insurance innovation, led by industry experts and dignitaries. Paper presentations were organized in different tracks, covering topics such as technology, innovations in insurance, and leadership. The event concluded with a valedictory session, awarding the Best Paper Award to deserving winners.
