In a strategic move to bolster its technological capabilities, Arch Insurance North America has appointed Prabhu Venkataraman as Chief Information Officer (CIO). In his new role, Venkataraman will spearhead the implementation of technology and services throughout the segment, emphasising strategic alignment, data enablement, and business empowerment.

Reporting directly to Prashant Nema, Executive Vice President and CIO of Arch Capital Services LLC, as well as Brian First, President of Arch Insurance North America, Venkataraman brings with him a wealth of experience and a seasoned perspective. His primary focus will be on driving Arch’s business technology transformation strategy to meet the growing market demand for the company’s specialty insurance solutions.

Brian First expressed confidence in the appointment, stating, “Prabhu’s addition is another step forward for Arch as we continue to build scalable and enhanced capabilities and invest in our future through our talent.” He highlighted the importance of Venkataraman’s seasoned perspective, considering it crucial for executing their business technology transformation strategy successfully.

Prabhu Venkataraman joins Arch from Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, where he served as Senior Vice President for Enterprise Applications and Architecture. His previous role involved leading the development and implementation of business and strategic technology initiatives, demonstrating his proficiency in navigating complex technology transformations at scale.

Prashant Nema emphasised Venkataraman’s specialised expertise, noting that his experience in leading technology transformations and implementations at scale will play a critical role in evolving Arch’s Insurance operating model. “Having led complex technology transformations and implementation at scale, Prabhu brings a wealth of specialised expertise that will be critical to evolving our Insurance operating model, with a north star technology platform and tech talent with modern skills,” Nema said.
