Feather Raises €6M to Simplify Insurance for Expats in Europe

Feather, an expat insurance startup, has raised €6 million in funding to simplify insurance for over 50 million expats in Europe. Founded in 2018, Feather offers a digital platform that provides transparent, simple, and trustworthy insurance options tailored to the needs of expats. The funding will support Feather’s expansion into new European markets.

Feather, an expat insurance startup, has secured €6 million in funding, bringing its total funding to €10 million. The company, founded in 2018 by Rob Schumacher and Vincent Audoire, aims to simplify insurance for the over 50 million expats living and working in Europe. Feather’s digital platform offers honest, unbiased advice and recommendations, addressing the shortcomings of traditional insurance offerings that are often complicated and fragmented.

By partnering with insurance companies, Feather manages all aspects of the insurance process online, from policy documentation to claims processing, making the experience more affordable, responsive, and user-friendly. The company has already helped over 50,000 expats from 150 countries get insurance digitally and plans to expand its services to more European countries.

The recent funding round was led by Keen Venture Partners, with participation from Plural and senior leaders from Allianz, AXA, and Bastian. The investment will enable Feather to accelerate its expansion into new markets, creating a pan-European product that expats can easily access as they move from country to country.

Overall, Feather’s focus on expats’ needs, combined with its advanced technology platform, has positioned it as a key player in the insurtech industry. The company’s rapid growth and success in serving expats across Europe demonstrate the potential for further expansion and innovation in the insurance sector.
